About Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a country in Southeast Asia that has a population of roughly 32 million people. It is a landlocked country, bordered by China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Pakistan. The history and culture of this country dates back 5,000 years, although it has had different names in the past such as Aryana and Khorasan. Afghanistan covers about 250,000 miles. Kabul is the capital city, and that is also where the main university is located. The two official languages in the country are Pashto and Dari. The vast majority of Afghans practice the Muslim religion.

How Long Is the Academic Year?

There are fall, spring, and summer semesters in Afghanistan. The fall semester starts in September and goes through December. After a winter break, the spring semester begins in January and is completed in May. The summer semester begins in late May or early June and continues through August. Islamic and national Afghan holidays are observed, and there is also a spring break that takes place in the middle of March.
